Global Webinar for the Japanese Market 3: Event Sustainability
With COVID-19 drastically changing the event industry, our team at
JTB Meetings & Events by JTB Communication Design (JCD)
decided to set up a global webinar series for our Japanese clients. In this webinar series, event experts from different companies and various countries share updates from outside Japan. They give insights on current developments of the worldwide event industry and the actions that were taken in these changing times. Next to inform, it also served to inspire the viewers.
In case you missed them, our first two editions featured
worldwide event company GL Events
and
our American partner company MC&A
. Following the positive reception of these two webinars about the current state of the event industry, we chose to focus on the theme of Sustainability for the next edition. Our speaker for this webinar was Guy Bigwood, Managing Director and Chief Changemaker at Global Destinations Sustainability Movement, and one of the foremost figures in the world of destination- and event sustainability.
Event Sustainability and the Regenerative Revolution
Guy Bigwood joined us live from Barcelona, Spain, to share his expertise on sustainable development in the event sector. He started the webinar off explaining the current developments and trends, and of course also touched on Japan. Moreover, he presented his framework of taking the Sustainable one step further into the Regenerative, calling for a ‘Regenerative Revolution’. He discussed many concrete ideas of what we in the events industry can do to hold events responsibly, with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in mind.
Online and Hybrid Events with JCD
As always, we closed the webinar off with a lengthy live Q&A. Just as with our previous editions, this webinar was held in English with simultaneous Japanese translation. Our professional staff and technical crew made sure everything proceeded smoothly from beginning to end.
We were very happy to work with Guy Bigwood and share information and ideas about
sustainable development
with our Japanese audience. If you are looking to reach out to a Japanese business audience yourself, or are considering options for future events whether they be in-person, hybrid, or online, feel free to
