International Expo
A Japan Day and Japan Festival were held at the International Horticultural Expo 2016 in Antalya, Turkey, and JTB Communication Design took care of managing these two events. The events increased awareness of Japanese flowers and flower culture, as well as of the bonds between Turkey and Japan.
On the Japan Day, professional artists from different fields performed in kinetic showings of Japanese art forms.
Professional taiko-drum performers brought the lively spirit of Japanese traditional music to the expo, exciting the attendees. The music is easily recognized by its distinctive sound and always brings the feel of Japanese culture to any place in the world, making it suitable for any kind of event!
To bring the attendees in touch with Japanese culture as much as possible, a kabuki dance was also performed. Having flowers as its repertoire theme, the dance fit perfectly at a horticultural expo.
At an expo celebrating the various flora from all corners of our planet, traditional Japanese flower arranging is unmissable. A Kado (the art of flower arrangement) artist performed his arts at the festival, using flowers from mainly the Tohoku region in Japan. Next to this, the exhibition producer for the Japan indoor Garden also gave a flower arrangement demonstration. It is a Japanese art that has been practiced for hundreds of years. Several flower work shops were also given for attendees.
JTB Communication Design was delighted to be able to partake in creating a memorable experience at a world expo and to create a stage to share Japanese traditional arts and aesthetics with the world.
