Corporate Event Case Study in Japan: Inspiration and Sustainability

Corporate Event Case Study in Japan: Inspiration and Sustainability

Company: JTB Inc.
Event type: Corporate Event
Attendees: 100 in-person attendees & 150 employees
Location: Otemachi Mitsui Hall

In 2023, we organized our own JTB Group event that tackled the topic of corporate engagement solutions. It was an original event that introduced various case studies and other examples of what companies can do to increase their employees’ active involvement. The main aim was to inspire and connect with existing clients, as well as show potential future clients what services and knowledge we can bring to the table.

Sessions that lead to solutions to corporate engagement issues were held intermittently on the stage in the hall and in the foyer. At the same time booths, informative posters, and more, were set up in various locations to be browsed and spread ideas. Catering services were also provided, making it an event to be enjoyed flexibly and casually at one’s own pace.

The venue design was based on a camping theme. This idea was also borne out of the goal of creating a unique atmosphere, different from the regular corporate seminars. It was an unusual vibe and this too helped participants relax while communicating in a friendly manner. The seating was done in theater-style in the front and outdoor low chairs in the back in a style similar to surrounding a fire pit. In the foyer, tents and tall trees were arranged to create a consistent outdoor-like experience as well.

In tandem with the outdoor nature atmosphere, many sustainable elements were also incorporated as part of our SDGs initiatives and services. Some examples of this were the introduction of CO2 Zero MICE®, the use of recycled materials for panels and other decorations, the use of anti-food-loss F&B for catering, and the use of recycled plastic containers for the plastic cups used to serve drinks.

All in all it was a successful event, that inspired not only our clients but also employees from different sections of the JTB Group, as exchanging information about case studies with varying approaches was food for great discussion.
